Sunday Morning

I finally got around to using my GCs.

On Christmas, I received National Bookstore and Starbucks Gift Certificates. Since then, I’ve been excited to indulge on my favorite stuff without having to shell out any cash. Thanks to Diane for the generous amount of GCs, and to my monito for being faithful to my Kris Kringle wish list. I love GCs. I love picking out my own gifts! Haha.

After work yesterday, I headed to Starbucks and got myself an Iced Mocha. Sarap talaga pag libre. Heehee. I attended the 10:00AM mass at the Saint Pio of Pietrelcina chapel in Libis, and then went back to Cybermall to grab new books as soon as NBS opened.

The last book I got for myself was The Secret. Yesterday, I decided to get two Mitch Alboms - The Five People You Meet In Heaven and For One More Day. I loved Tuesdays With Morrie, and these two books have been on my lit wish list for some time now. I just get sidetracked very often and have difficulty sticking to my list. My NBS GCs were worth six hundred. If the amount were any bigger I would have snagged something out of my list. That's just me.

So now I have two new bathroom books. Lovely.

The Last 24 Hours

Sunday Morning

Made my own breakfast - scrambled eggs with grated cheese. Ippo's favorite. But I enjoyed it more because of Layla's sinangag and mommy's adobo.

Saw some old episodes of Gilmore Girls. Reminds me of my college days. I don't have the patience to wait for the weekly episodes anymore. Thank goodness for DVD.

I went to mass. Wow.

I thought we were so late but the cathedral was also late. Talk about blessing. I'm still amazed at myself for looking forward to hearing the sermon. Really, I don't mean to be a bad person but I usually don't pay attention in church. I would really love to keep this up.

Sunday Afternoon

Despite being sleep deprived, I saw my girlfriends Det and Georgie. Det even dropped by my humble apartment so we could cab together!

Sunday Evening

We had dinner at the Stock Market in Bonifacio High Street. Det, you are funny.

Georgie and I brought Christmas gifts. Det complained because we never talked about bringing gifts so she insisted on buying us coffee. So thank you Det for the last sticker on my second planner. Too bad they are out of stock.

Oh, and sticker swapping is not a crime.

Spotted. John Estrada with his kids. Never mind the kids. He is still a hottie.

On our way home, Det and I planned on taking Bikram yoga. Hmmm. Lets see if something good comes out of this.

At home, I opened my Christmas presents. Lyn, yours is my favorite.

Lyn gave me a framed photo of her, me and Diane. A picture taken on my birthday. I love it. Thank you.

Made it to work in one piece. I am always thankful when I commute and get to my destination without getting held up.

Monday Morning

Caught up with AJ. Thank you for listening AJ. Always nice hanging out with you, even without the cake. I think I'll hold off on that Atom.

And now I'm off to NBS to use the P300 GC I received from the XPS Kris Kringle.

These Are Not Shoes

While picking up flip flops for my cousin Sony, I found these.

They remind me of the eighties and kung-fu shoes. I immediately loved these Sanuk sandals because they’re lightweight and very comfy. I couldn’t decide on which design to take home, so I called Denver and told him I’d wait for him in Rustan’s so he could help me pick.

He ended up paying for these!

Happy birthday to me!

A Birthday Present for Me

This came yesterday.

This 3 piece sofa set is a birthday gift from me, to me. Hehe.

I’ve been renting for quite some time now, but this is the first piece of furniture I bought for this apartment. This year, I made it my goal to finally start making our apartment look like a home. If I wait until I get my very own house, it may never happen.

It started when our washing machine broke down a few months ago. I bought a replacement right away, and then decided to finally satisfy my frequent popcorn craving by picking up a microwave oven. I've been holding off on getting a microwave for years because I had no rack. Thank goodness Denver got us one, or else it would find its home on an old wooden chair.

I think this project really started after our property hunting phase. I realized that part of wanting our own home was the little comforts that came with it.

Recently, we had our bathroom floor retiled and the toilet replaced. Its smaller than ever and still far from being a nice looking bathroom, but it is way more decent than how it was before we renovated.

My next project is to replace the bathroom door. When I’ve paid off my sofa, I think I'll either replace the dining table and chairs, or work on the floors.
