Worried

I just learned that my good friend Det is seeking refuge at her neighbor's. I've been wondering about her and my cousin Ate Laila since yesterday because they both live in Cainta, which is badly flooded. They are offline FB which is unusual. I can't get any SMS out and can't reach out to them.

Medyo nag panic yata ako. As soon as I heard about Det, my heart raced. I emailed DZMM and sent Det's address to ask for rescue. I asked friends to contact the mobile number of a chopper rescue team too. After around an hour I realized that Det is on the second floor of a neighbor's house, and not on the roof of a neighbor's house, which is what I pictured initially. I think I may have overreacted. But I'm still worried about her.

Det I am praying for you and your family and hope that you have at least some food and water up at the second floor.

Testing Lang

I'm experimenting on torrents. This makes me feel scared and excited at the same time. I might be opening my doors to viruses and malware. I would hate to reinstall Vista and all our applications for the Nth time. Not that I'm the one who takes care of the actual reinstallation process. That's Denver's job. But I'm getting a little bored with my Facebook games. It would also be nice to watch Gossip Girl 3 when I want to, and not have to wait for it to air on cable. Plus, I would like a lead on Cougar Town. I can't wait. I hope I get to watch something good tonight!

P.S.
Success! Just saw GG3 episode 1. I lab it!

Kaloka

I was laughing all by myself while watching the preview of Courteney Cox's Cougar Town. This is something ladies 30 and up might really appreciate.

I have a feeling I'm going to spend some time downloading episodes of this.

Enjoy!

Liquid Coffee-mate

Does anyone know where I can get these?

I know we are far behind in customer service here in the Philippines, but I went ahead and sent an inquiry through Nestle's website. I wonder if someone actually responds to these local online inquiries.

Tita Dahl told me I could get these from Duty Free. As if. I think I was still in school when I last set foot in Duty Free Philippines.

I got mine through my Tita's rasyon. One of the many things I get excited over is getting my aunt's balikbayan box. I'm almost out though.

I love the Hazelnut flavor.

Incidentally, our boss, Rache, brought French Vanilla in the office yesterday. She got hers from her balikbayan sister and has not found any liquid coffee-mate at major groceries and even in Cash N Carry.

I don't think I can wait for my next balikbayan box so I think I'll do some online shopping for this.

Malapit na ang birthday ko

Nakakainis ka Carla. If you had not mentioned it, I would not have discovered these. Now I think I will die if I don't get my hands on a Planetes or LM Nylon. Huhu.

If anyone can get Denver to get me one, I will owe you for life.

Hurrah for DSL!

In my excitement to get myself home, I forgot to log out from the office. I realized this during my post shift break with Weng at the ground floor, so I went up to my floor again to scan out.

It's been raining all day, and I'm tired and starving. This is a good excuse to get a cab.

When I reached Dr. Sixto Antonio Ave. corner Eagle St., I spotted the Globe multi-cab parked in front of our gate. Hurrah! The Globe guys just finished installing our landline and DSL! I can't stop smiling. Finally! I can now say goodbye to my suking tindahan because I don't need to load up my Smart Bro and Globe Tattoo prepaid internet kits! I know, I know, I'm so outdated.

Honestly though, prepaid is impractical for Facebook addicts like me. I spend roughly P100 to bank my money in Sorority Life and Mafia Wars daily, to visit, bathe and play with my pet neighbors in Pet Society, and to plow, seed and harvest every three days in Farm Town. My P100 doesn't even cover stalking accounts, blog hopping, updating my blog and online (window) shopping (like I still have time for those).

With unlimited internet, I can now take my time reading my favorite blogs, and maybe (just maybe), I can put a little more effort onto this new cyber project a couple of friends are trying to get me into. One of them has just begun earning $4 per hour for some telemarketing work. I'll let you know when I start earning dollars.
