Metro

Worn-out from my shift and harassed by dysmenorrhea, I decided to take a cab home. Normally my stingy self would manage a couple of jeepney rides, but the heat has just been unbearable these last few weeks. Its Sunday afternoon in Eastwood, so finding a taxi should be easy.

Cab Ride

Halfway through the ride home, I see the meter is off. This is just great. I’m about to have a heatstroke, and now I have to deal with this driver.

This scene starts playing in my head…

I give the driver a hundred pesos.
Cab Driver: Pakidagdagan na lang po.
Me: Eh magkano po ba gusto niyo?

When what I really want to say is…

Me: Huh? Araw araw ako sumasakay ng taxi papasok at pauwi, dapat may sukli pa yang isang daan ko. Oportunistang matanda!

Knowing myself, I was pretty sure I would give him another twenty and just be thankful he got me home safely.

Here’s what really happened…

I hand him a hundred pesos.
The driver notices he never touched the meter.
Cab Driver: Magkano po ba binabayad niyo pag sumasakay kayo?
Me: Eighty po.
The driver takes out his bills and attempts to give me twenty pesos.
This surprises me.
Me: Wag na po.
Cab Driver: Hindi po. Eto sukli niyo.
Me: Hindi na. Ok na po.
Ashamed of myself, I get off the cab and start walking to my compound.

I am evil. Its Easter Sunday and I’m making up bad people in my head.

Pakialamera

Annoying!

This is the third time I saw Nothing Hill listed under Favorite Movies in a Friendster Profile. Puhleaze, its Notting Hill!

Good girl in me says: Pakialamera. Malay mo naman may indie film na Nothing Hill?

Oo nga naman.

Yey!

I'm checking my work inbox from home and saw this corporate email about EPP (Employee Purchase Program). I must say that this is very exciting for me. I can't wait to have this...

I wanted an HP Mini-Note originally, but truth be told, I really don't care for the brand for as long as I get a mini! My 17 inch HP Pavillion is just too heavy!

Amusing

My son wants to be John Lloyd. Oo, si John Lloyd Cruz.

I didn't realize how "deep" his thing for him was until I heard him say "I can't be jealous! I can't be jealous! Ngayon lang!" It took me a while to realize that was an attempt to be Miggy in John Lloyd and Sarah Geronimo's latest film, You Changed My Life. The lines should have been "I don't get jealous! I can't be jealous! I've never been jealous! Ngayon lang," but I have to applaud my three year old for delivering it with such conviction.

I wonder how he'd react if we saw John Lloyd in person?

Here's a picture of my little John Lloyd with his Ate Joanna.

As I write this, he is reenacting "how to eat an Oreo", but using Cream-O and a glass of water for his props. Cute.
